Terms of Service

toberead.in is a registry of books — titles, editions, translations, publishers and the crew behind them — together with reader tools for tracking reading progress, rating and reviewing books, and building lists and collections. It is a registry, not a store. We do not sell books and we do not process payments.

Some features require signing in with Google. You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping access to your Google account secure. You must be old enough to hold a Google account in your country to sign in here. Do not impersonate another reader, author or publisher, and do not create accounts to evade a suspension.

Reviews, ratings, reading logs, lists, collections, event entries, crew claims and book edit suggestions are yours. You keep ownership of what you write. By posting it on toberead.in you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, reproduce and distribute that content on the site and in features that surface it (search results, book pages, reader cards, shared links). You can delete your content at any time; copies may persist briefly in backups or caches.

You confirm you have the right to post what you post, and that it is not defamatory, infringing or unlawful.

Book metadata is compiled from publishers, public catalogues and reader submissions. Suggestions submitted through the site are reviewed before they are published. We try to keep the catalogue accurate, but we do not warrant that any title, edition, ISBN, page count, publication date, cover image or crew credit is complete or correct. If something is wrong, tell us or use the suggest-an-edit option on the book page.

Book pages may link to third-party retailers. Those links leave toberead.in and any purchase is a transaction between you and that retailer, under their terms. We are not the seller, we do not hold your payment details, and we are not responsible for pricing, availability, delivery, returns or the content of external sites. Some links may earn us a referral fee.

• Do not scrape, bulk-download or resell the registry data.
• Do not attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or its backend.
• Do not post spam, harassment, hate speech, or sexual content involving minors.
• Do not manipulate ratings, reviews or reading statistics.
• Do not upload cover images or text you do not have the right to share.

The site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Features may change, pause or be removed. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and to the extent permitted by law we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site.

We may suspend or remove an account, or remove content, that breaches these terms or the law. You can stop using the site at any time and ask us to delete your account — see the Privacy Policy for how.

We may update these terms. The “last updated” date below always reflects the current version. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
